In downtown Rapid City, SD I had just stepped outside of a shop when the world stopped me in my tracks. The sky was a deep electric blue, spotted with clusters of soft, cottony clouds. The sunlight lit everything with a golden glow, making the red sign of the Alex Johnson pop against the sky.
It was one of those moments that catches you off guard with its beauty. The sky and the light, it all felt like it was waiting to be captured.
My sister and I were sitting down for dinner in Knoxville when the sky began to shift into something dreamlike. The sunset had already caught my eye with those rich pink streaks stretching across the sky, but it was the reflection on the water that made me pause.
Everything felt doubled. The soft pink clouds melted into the lake, layered against the blue above and the earthy green of the trees. I had to get up and take a photo; it was too beautiful to forget.
