About Me
Hi! I’m Laura Neugebauer, a 22-year-old amateur photographer.
I grew up in Rapid City, South Dakota, in a military family. My dad joined the Army in 1999, and my mom enlisted a little later in 2011. I’m the middle child of three and am close to both my older sister and younger brother. My sister and I are so close we often get asked if we’re twins. When I was 18, we moved to Cleveland, Tennessee. I still miss the Black Hills, but Tennessee has quickly become home.
I was homeschooled my whole life, which gave me the freedom to explore the world creatively and at my own pace. Within that space I discovered a love for photography and video editing. I’m pretty shy, so I’m most comfortable behind the camera, quietly observing and capturing moments. But every now and then, I enjoy stepping in front of the lens too, especially for our family vlogs. We started filming them when my sister went off to basic training as a way to keep her in the loop, and somehow, it just stuck. Now it’s something we do together regularly, and I love looking back at all the memories we’ve collected over the years.
Growing up, I was really involved in dance, especially hip hop and aerial silks. I’ve also had a lifelong love of music. Even though I’m not musically gifted, I’m endlessly inspired and moved by it. Live concerts are one of my favorite things in the world, and I’m always so grateful for the connection that only live music can bring.
Thank you for being here.

This is one of my favorite photos. It was taken at Reptile Gardens in Rapid City.
